October 2018: The Political Dialogue Support Program organized the monthly meeting of the Strategic Support Group on Oct. 16, 17 and 21, which was devoted to addressing the economic crisis in Yemen. On first day, the members listened to a summary of the Berlin’s meeting held on 22-25 September about the national and local governance levels after reaching a political agreement. Then, the members stood before the outcomes of SSG small work groups regarding an option to commence a new round of consultations or the option to enter direct negotiations between the parties in the conflict in order to finalize them. On the second day, members listened to a presentation on the economic situation, problems and solutions by Mr. Abdulmalik Al-Thaor, Director of Yemen-Kuwait Bank, and a summary about the economic situation in Yemen; the short, medium, and long term solutions to the economic situation by HE Hussein Abdullah Maqbouli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. On the third day, after a brainstorming session during a public session to determine the general guidelines, the members were divided into two working groups to reach proposals and come up with a unified vision for the group on how to address the economic situation of the crisis in Yemen
